Blades CEO Stephen Bettis – “Maddy was in a unique position to be part of a number of teams at Sheffield United and was loved by everyone she came in contact with. “Her character and professionalism made her a credit to her family – she will be sadly missed.” Sending our love and wishes to her family, friends and everyone at Bramall Lane at this difficult time.”
The former England youth international signed a new contract extension with the Blades in July.

‘Maddy had a special position as a member of several teams at Sheffield United and was loved by everyone she came in contact with.
‘Her personality and professionalism made her a figure of authority with the family – she will be sadly missed.
‘While absorbing the news and moving forward, the club will provide as much support as possible to Maddy’s family, friends and colleagues.’
The Blades said discussions about ‘appropriate tributes and celebrations of Maddy’s life’ will continue privately, adding: ‘The club and Maddy’s family would appreciate private time and will not be commenting further at this sad time.’
