Marcus Mariota, the American football quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons in the National Football League (NFL), was born on October 30th, 1993.

He grew up looking up to fellow Samoan quarterback Jeremiah Masoli. At the Saint Louis School and the University of Oregon, Masoli performed exceptionally well. Mariota describes himself as an ardent Christian.

Mariota excelled in both football and track while attending the Saint Louis School in Honolulu. He didn’t start playing football until his senior season, which left him with little recognition until late in his high school career.

He was recognized as the PrepStar Magazine All-West Region and Interscholastic League of Honolulu Offensive Player of the Year as a senior, helping St. Louis to an 11-1 record and the state championship.
