“It was never easy,” Shauwn Mkhize on writing her new book, “My World, My Rules”

Shauwn Mkhize opens up about her new book, My World, My Rules.

The book was written in a year, but the businesswoman had to be brave enough to open up about her life in the memoir.

Speaking to TshishaLIVE, Shauwn said the writing process wasn’t easy, but it brought her healing.

“This process has never been easy because the time has come for me to face my fears and address them, trying to deliver them to the reader in a way that she understands and will be able to understand and put them into. as they are supposed to be. You know, it’s not easy to face some of your fears,” she said.

“It’s about healing, it’s number one because there are some parts where I haven’t been healed and I’m not ready to confront and face them. The first part is healing and the second part is about accepting who I am today and allowing whatever is about to come into my life as a free person. Well, I think I had my own therapy, the book helped me in the form of therapy. You know, sometimes you’ll sit in front of a therapist and try to get a therapist to not understand your story, but for me, that doctor was me who wrote this book.”

She further explained why she delayed the book’s launch.

“The only reason I delayed it was because I hit many milestones along the way. I felt the book needed to stand out and I wanted it not to be overshadowed by all my accomplishments. I want it to stand on its own so it can go the distance and reach the people it needs. This book has been a healing process for me and it is therapy for me, but it can also help others.

“I can tell you now that anything in the book fills the void because people never knew about my journey. They never knew where I came from and there was a distance. They only knew about Mam’Mkhize that they thought everything was rosy and good so I really had to tell the story so they knew where I came from, what tribulations I went through and I still woke up. and I keep going.”
