On Friday August 4, Nicholas Lowden was confirmed dead in a statement released by the South Australian Football Commission.

“The South Australian Football Commission and everyone at SANFL are incredibly saddened by the tragic and unexpected death of Norwood Football Club player Nicholas Lowden.

We send our heartfelt condolences and offer comfort and support to Nick’s family and friends, the players, coaches and staff of the Norwood Football Club and the extended football community at this difficult time.” The statement reads
