DJ Cleo fails to pay R1 million loan for his home


DJ Cleo is accused of breaching Standard Bank’s contract to buy a house worth Rs 1 million.

Hitmaker Wena Ng’Hamba Nawe got a loan in 2006 and he failed to meet his payment obligations in 2022.

The DJ nearly lost his house believed to be worth R2 million in 2022 but paid R10 000, the amount believed to be chicken feed.

The bank sued Cleo, and court papers are said to have been leaked, prompting protests from some social media users.

According to City Press, Standard Bank took DJ Cleo to court. The bank stated that it gave the famous producer R1 104 000 in May 2006, understanding that he would pay R9 511.01 in monthly installments for 240 months (20).

The bank tried to secure DJ Cleo to clear the payment, but he failed.

“Despite the efforts of the plaintiff, the defendants failed to reach a settlement agreement with the plaintiff.”
