She and six other women joined an ongoing legal battle over Texas’ abortion laws. The lawsuit was originally filed in March 2023 with five patient plaintiffs, but more and more patients have joined the lawsuit.
In total there are 20 patients. In a hearing in July, lawyers for the Texas attorney general’s office argued that women had not suffered under the state’s laws and placed responsibility for alleged harm on their doctors.
